The Echo is Queenwood School's yearly magazine that highlights student acheivement and events throughout the year.
To document this accurately and make the book easy to navigate, I have created nine sections that are colour coded and contain icons. This colour coding was added to the left and right hand side edges of each page so that when the viewer flicks through the document they can easily navigate to the desired section.
Each section also requires its own page layout with images and text but must contain enough of the parent elements to ensure a sense of unity within the design.
The magazine has a unique wrap around cover that displays a student's artwork outside and the School's motto and colours inside. Speckled board and silver foil finish off the books hard cover which contrast with the gloss stock inside pages.
Here are some initial sketches for the layout of the different sections, use of icons, fonts and coloured dividers.
