Queenwood CANVAS intranet site for 800 students.
Brief: Design a range of buttons and that could cater for both Junior and Senior school subject links. As well as a range of Extra Curricular and Co-curricular activities with the School.
Solution: Understanding how students and teachers interact within this intranet space was paramount to designing a range of icons that are easy to read and use for a range of students from Years 7 - 12. Using the School's nine colours and a range of icons, I created a set of 14 tonal colours that could then be divided into numerous combinations with a one and two level font titles using Helvetica. The square shape ensured that teachers could easily create stacked tables within their intranet pages that were logical and well layed out. This ease of use was imperative as teachers had a range of skills when it came to creating web-based intranet pages.
The following result has proven successful for Queenwood with a lot of positive feedback and teachers now being able to upskill themselves to create their own buttons and pages as required.
